Movement For Scavenger Community

Movement for Scavenger Community (MSC) is an all-Indian grass-root NGO. We work towards equality for all people in India.

Scavengers are manual labourers, who inherit their profession by birth. Doing the neccessary work of cleaning dry latrines or sweeping streets as well as private facilities, they are deprived of social recognition and improvement.

MSC is more than a NGO, it is a social movement to improve the conditions of the scavenger community. We consider all human beings as equally valuable, no matter which caste, gender or religion they have.

We locate, train and support Fellows for Equality to enable them to run their own projects all over the country. Projects include education, consultation an public awareness of the situation of the community.

Movement for Scavenger Community (MSC) helps local communities, to create their own strategies for development.
